Description
Comprising Greatmead Copse only, the vegetation type is W8 Fraxinus excelsior - Acer campestre – Mercurialis perennis woodland (Hall et. al. 2004). There is a diverse and variable ground flora, the understory is often well-developed with frequent Corylus avellana, the canopy is dominated by Fraxinus excelsior and Acer campestre (except under power line), Quercus sp. is also common. Soils are predominantly wet, gleyed clays and litter depth is variable.
