Plantation Woodland

Description

Comprising Timber Copse only, the majority of the woodland in comprised of 49 year old plantation of Thuja plicata and/or Picea abies interspersed with regrowth of mixed broadleaf species approximate to W8 Fraxinus excelsior - Acer campestreMercurialis perennis woodland (Hall et. al. 2004). Ground flora is variable and an understory is generally absent. The canopy is primarily Thuja plicata with mixed broadleaf regrowth.

Soil: range from dry clay under conifers to wet gleyed clay soils at plantation edges
