Soil biodiversity - microhabitats

Microhabitats sampled

The woodland was split into two habitats - deciduous woodland or coniferous plantation, within these a total of 11 microhabitats were distinguished, a twelfth microhabitat (streamside) was abandoned due to lack of invertebrates. Microhabitats were classified into standard or additional determined by whether they would have been sampled by earlier Soil Biodiversity Group soil and litter surveys
